After months of hard work by a dedicated band of volunteers known as Manx Transport Trust Ltd, the Jurby Transport Museum will open its doors for the first time on Good Friday, 2nd April, 2010. The former WWII aircraft hanger has been converted over the Winter months and now houses historic vehicles from both the Government and private collections. The following day will see Chief Minister, Hon. Tony Brown MHK perform the official opening at 3:00pm, with TLP Tours providing a tour from Douglas for the occasion, using one of the last Leyland Olympians in service on the Island. Easter Sunday will see a display of historic vehicles in and around the museum, with privately owned vehicles adding to the event.
