NOTES

A - On loan from Isle of Man Railway & Tramway Preservation Society, UK.

B - Acquired with the Manx Northern Railway business in 1905 as their number 4.

C - Purchased 1992 ex-Dortmund, Germany.

D - Purchased 2004 ex-IRIS works project contractors

E - Original railcars new to, and purchased from in 1961, County Donegal Railway. Heavily dismantled during the 1990's under a project to restore them to passenger use. In practice the work required was so extensive that precious little of the originals were incorporated into the rebuild, effectively becoming replica units. Scheme shelved winter 1999/2000, before completion - what work had been undertaken is now in store.

Also to be found on the IMR are No. 5 "Mona," and No. 9 "Douglas." These are Beyer, Peacock & Co. locos dating from 1874 and 1896, which are not owned by Isle of Man Transport. These passed to the Isle of Man Railway & Tramway Preservation Society some years ago, along with the surviving frames of similar loco No. 7 "Tynwald" of 1880.

NOTES

The F50-F75 class was created using former 4-wheeled carriage bodies from the A, B, C and D classes of 1873 and 1874. The bodies were removed from their 4-wheeled underframes over a number of years and were mounted onto new steel bogie underframes purchased from the Metropolitan Carriage & Wagon Co., Saltley. Two bodies were mounted on each bogie underframe. The date listed is the date of pairing onto the new underframe.

G - F54 was withdrawn with the original 'bodies' being scrapped early 1980's. A replica one piece body was under construction at the IMR works throughout the 1990's and when completed the carriage returned to traffic.
