M.V. Balmoral Cruises

The M.V. Balmoral, seen at Peel in June 2009

The M.V. Balmoral will again be visiting Manx waters during 2010, and there will be two opportunities for Manx residents to travel on the historic vessel. She was originally built in 1949 for Red Funnel services to the Isle of Wight, and after many other roles she re-entered service with Waverley Excursions 24 years ago. She is now Britain's most widely travelled coastal excursion vessel and in the last few years has undergone a regeneration programme to restore the period lounges and dining saloon. Both of the Island cruises depart from Douglas Harbour, with a sailing to the Calf of Mann on Saturday 26th June and a Round the Island cruise on Sunday 27th June. For more information about the cruises please visit the the Waverley Excursions website.
