Manx Electric Railway Summer Season 2014
Services commence
Friday, April 4, 2014 saw the launch of this year's
summer services on the electric railway following some
considerable last minute effort to get the line fully
operational. Repairs to the damaged track bed at Ballaglass
were completed earlier in the week, whilst the last section
of overhead (for the main MER tracks) through the Laxey
relay area was strung Thursday evening. As planned,
timetable B, with three service cars & crews was
operational.

service from Ramsey, with the new centrally placed siding
and larger traction poles evident in the background, whilst
compacted stone forms the covering of the station 'floor'
throughout. [Photo Liam Dinklespiel
