NOTESE - F21 Withdrawn and later sold to Welsh Highland
Railway in 1975. Following a series of owners the carriage
was reacquired and returned to the Island during the
mid-1990's with a view to restoring it to service. However
this scheme has yet to progress and the carriage is in
store. |

NOTES The F50-F75 class was created using former 4-wheeled carriage bodies from the A, B, C and D classes of 1873 and 1874. The bodies were removed from their 4-wheeled underframes over a number of years and were mounted onto new steel bogie underframes purchased from the Metropolitan Carriage & Wagon Co., Saltley. Two bodies were mounted on each bogie underframe. The date listed is the date of pairing onto the new underframe. G - F54 was withdrawn with the original 'bodies' being
scrapped early 1980's. A replica one piece body was under
construction at the IMR works throughout the 1990's and
when completed the carriage returned to traffic |
